Outdoor Learning in the Hive

The school's 70 acre woodland setting provides a perfect backdrop to the new Outdoor Learning Centre, 'The Hive' with its own outdoor classroom incorporating canopy and firepit. To complement this we have a multi-level orienteering course, two mountain bike tracks, a graded traversing wall and designated challenge activity stations which are used for teambuilding and leadership. Our innovative curriculum gives all children a dedicated Outdoor Learning Lesson every week and provides opportunity for a wide range of skills including Forest Schools, Mountain Biking, Orienteering and Team-Building, Conservation and Bushcraft. With extensive grounds we are able to give all children an opportunity to camp and cook outdoors both in tents and in shelters, which they have constructed themselves.
