Spring Week 12

It has been a fantastic term of sport with so many superb achievements. We have had the senior boys winning the cross country relays at Ludgrove and the senior girls’ netball team finishing sixth in the region at IAPs. The under 8 girls’ netball team secured an unbeaten season and finished first in the Yateley Manor netball festival. There has also been success for our scholars, with Olivia G, Kitty W, Rosie P, Harry P, Charlie J and Ted S all receiving sports scholarships from their senior schools.

We had our termly sports assembly this week and colours were given out to those pupils who have demonstrated a consistently high standard of play and shown a fantastic attitude whilst representing the school. Charlie J and Oscar B received colours in rugby and Charlie was also given colours for hockey. Netball saw colours given to Rosie P, Olivia G, Kitty W, Zoe C and Mia F, whilst in cross country Rosie P, Harry P, Charlie J, Oscar B, Thomas A, Zoe C, Olivia G and Mia F all received colours. Well done to all the above pupils for all the hard work they have put into their sport at St Neot’s.

Looking ahead, we have lots of fixtures during the first week back. Team sheets have gone up today (Friday 5th April) for boys in Years 5-8, and the remaining team sheets will go up when we return after Easter.

We would love all the children to keep up their sport over the holidays, and start practising for all the events in the Summer Term. Everyone will be playing cricket fixtures next term and, to aid their development, we really encourage pupils to join clubs outside school to gain even more practice time. Please follow the link to see a list of local cricket clubs, which are all keen to welcome more boys and girls into their teams. Cricket Club Directory .We have also created a list of hockey clubs - Hockey Club Directory.

Finally, we would like to remind everyone to take a look at our multiskills classroom on Google Classroom, which has been set up for the children to try out various challenges at home. Mr Smith discussed this with the children and they have been shown how to join the classroom. The following steps are a reminder of how to join:

Log into Google with your school gmail account
Go to Classroom
Click the plus sign to join a new class
