Spring Term Week 10

We have had another superb week of sport at St Neot’s. The boys and girls in Years 5-8 produced an incredible set of results on Wednesday. The boys played against St George’s in their hockey fixtures, winning 7 out of 8 matches. The girls in Years 5-8 also played superbly, winning all their matches against Holme Grange and Cranford House. In addition, there was an excellent win for the U8A netball team against Daneshill on Friday.

Saturday saw the U10A netball team travel to Queen Anne’s for a tournament. Against some stiff competition they acquitted themselves admirably and made brilliant progress throughout the morning. They should be very proud of their efforts and it was clear to see that hard work, determination and a desire to improve really does pay off! Some fantastic performances all round led to some increasingly impressive score lines and their convincing victory over Piper’s Corner was a particular highlight! Well done to all of the team and thank you to the parents for their support!

This summer all boys and girls are going to be playing cricket in their games lessons. To aid their development we really encourage the pupils to join clubs outside school to gain even more practice time. Please follow the link to see a list of local cricket clubs that are all keen to welcome more boys and girls into their teams. Cricket Club Directory . We have also created a list of hockey clubs - Hockey Club Directory.

This week sees the last round of hockey fixtures for the boys in Years 5-8, as well as the last set of netball fixtures for the girls in Years 5-8.

We have House hockey for all children in Years 3-8 on Thursday this week, so all children will need their mouthguards and shin pads in school to be able to participate.

Finally as we return a little later than usual after Easter, there are fixtures on the first Wednesday for boys and girls in Years 5-8 and boys in Years 3 and 4 on Friday. Team sheets will be listed on notice boards and Firefly, before the pupils break up for Easter.
