Summer Term Week 1

It has been a running start to the Summer Term on the sporting front, with fixtures for all year groups taking place this week. The boys' 1st XI got their season off to a flyer with an 8 wicket win over Yateley Manor, whilst the 2nd XI’s victory saw our first 50 of the season from Ollie H-M and then the first 5 wicket haul from Ollie S. On the girls’ side, there were convincing wins for the first team and the U11A’s against the same opposition. The U11A’s managed the impressive feat of not losing a single wicket in their pairs match! Team of the Week has been awarded to the girls’ first team for starting their season so well, and winning by 54 runs. Well done girls! We are pleased to announce that there are new St Neot’s cricket caps available from the second hand shop from Tuesday 7th May. There is a sample in Reception currently, if you would like to have a look. There is an addition to the fixture list over the coming weeks, with the U13 Hampshire Cup cricket fixture on Monday 13th May for the boys. The term is going to be an action packed one so could we please remind parents to continue to regularly check Firefly for the Team sheets. We also have a couple of big events before half term. Race for Life is on Sunday 12th May at 10.00am and it would be brilliant to see as many people there as possible, supporting and raising money for such a worthwhile cause. In addition, the annual House triathlon will be taking place on Thursday 23rd May for all pupils in Years 3-8. All children will need to have their bikes in school, as well as a helmet, to participate. Tennis teams play their first fixtureOur senior tennis teams played their first fixture of the summer season against Robert May's School on Thursday. The LTA Schools Team Tennis is a national competition, with the first rounds being played at county level. Our girls’ team of Jazireh S, Olivia G, Kitty W and Dominie D were on unbeatable form, winning their tie 6 - 0 without dropping a set. The boys (Ben J, Ethan R, Finn N and Dillon M) had a tough battle against strong opposition and came away second best, losing 2 - 4. Finn had a good singles win and Ethan should be hugely congratulated for turning out at very short notice and achieving a magnificent win in an extremely tight match against old Neotonian teammate, Ollie S. The whole fixture was played in great spirit and our teams look forward to a busy competition schedule over the coming weeks.

The Lion King

What a "ROARsome" week it has been for the cast and crew of The Lion King! The lions have been roaring, the gazelles leaping, the hyenas laughing and the birds a-tweeting about all the happenings of this spectacular musical.Parents, staff, friends and family alike have been treated to three amazing evening performances. All the pupils involved in the show have been working incredibly hard and with amazing talent and enthusiasm, which has shone through on stage from curtain up to curtain down every night. (Not to mention the two performances to Pre-Prep and Main School on Tuesday!)Audiences have been buzzing about what they have seen: the talent of the pupils, the colour, the music, the voices, the acting, the singing, the dancing, the costumes, the giraffes, the cheetahs, the ELEPHANT! All being brought to life by the outstanding work of all those involved in the show.It is truly a privilege to see the pupils and staff at this school working together to create something that we will all remember for a very long time. It has been a fantastic journey putting this project together. Thank you again to all involved and remember HAKUNA MATATA!

Early Years children impress with their dazzling performance

On Tuesday the Early Years children performed a spectacular spring concert for their parents and the children in Pre-Prep. They dressed in their best costumes, from cows to bumblebees, and sang an array of sunny songs. It was wonderful to watch Tiny Tuskers, Tuskers and Reception children singing so beautifully. The children (and teachers) have been practising very hard, which showed during the performance. Well done children, you continue to impress us with your confidence and dazzling smiles!
